Chelsea loanee Mason Mount has recommended a move abroad for young players seeking more game time.The 19-year-old spent last season on loan in the Eredivisie with Vitesse before he was sent out to Championship side Derby this term.And while many bright Chelsea careers fade away in the Netherlands, Mounts loan spell was incredibly fruitful.He bagged 14 goals and ten assists, appeared in the Eredivisie Team of the Week on several occasions and even collected the clubs Player of the Season award.2

Mason Mount is starring for Derby this season

A fellow Blues academy star, Callum Hudson-Odoi, is reportedly considering a move to Bayern Munich after the Bundesliga giants submitted four bids for the winger, with the latest in the region of 35million.And Mount believes first-team experience is key for players at the beginning of their careers and suggests its easier to obtain in the foreign leagues.I would say to all young players game time and experience is the most important thing, Mount told talkSPORT.

For me to go out on loan and play in a top professional league and gain experience, rather than sitting in the Chelsea Under-23s.I didnt want to do that, Id already had a year playing Under-23s and I felt that I needed to move on and test myself away from England.It was the best decision I made because I went out there, gained so much experience and playing time, and that set me up moving on.2

Hudson-Odoi, the 18-year-old winger, will be tempted by a move to Germany after watching fellow Englishman Jadon Sanchos rise to stardom at Borussia Dortmund.However, the teenager has started Chelsea’s last two games for the Blues, against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham, and manager Maurizio Sarri has been full of praise for his performances.Mount, who has six goals and two assists for Derby this season, admits its not easy for young players to leave England but insists the experience is totally worthwhile. He added: Its tough. I moved out there [Holland] when I was 18 and lived on my own.I think my mum came out for the first week to help me settle in, but you grow up. You have no time to bed into things. You just have to grow up and be a man straight away.“It helps you with that experience and, like I said, wherever young players go, its a really good decision to go out there.“Its a different type of football you experience. So if you go out there on a years loan, you come back to England and you have that different side to your game.”
